Safe Operation of Tilt Tray Slide Deck
Only use when it is safe to do so.
Always check it is safe to extend tray before doing so.
Operator must slide tray-back out of locks before raising tray.
When unloading and loading truck, only raise and lower tray when weight is over rear axle and pivot point.
Example as follows
Extend tray back 1-1.5 metres
Raise tray to required angle
Lower rear feet until they touch the ground
Extend tray until it is on the ground
Winch or drive load as far forward as possible
DO NOT lift or lower tray in this position
Retract tray on this angle until load is over or forward of pivot or axle
Only then lower tray all the way down so all weight is on chassis
Then retract tray into deck locks
Raise feet when finished.
Always walk around load to the rear and check load is secured and feet are stowed.
When side-pulling load out of a ditch, only pull directly over pivot point
When winching, DO NOT put the Remote in your clothing’s pockets, or you could pull the front end out of the vehicle once tied to the deck!
When greasing rams, slide tray all the way back and down, this will give you room to grease lift rams.
DO NOT grease when tray is not fully back.
Check nylon fixing every 6 months, as the changing climate may loosen fixing.
